8:30 am - 5:00 pm TNGIC: Experience GIS in Tennessee I. Cost is $50. There is a minimum of 5 in order to hold the class and a maximum of 15 if registered by September 18. Register  Class Canceled due to Conflicts and Low Participation​


​8:30 am 11:00 am ESRI: Web App. Builder and Mobile Data Collection
Class is free if registered by September 18.
Minimum Class Size is 8 and Maximum class size is 20. Register

9:00 am - 12:00 pm  Duncan-Parnell: ArcPad and TerraSync Tips & Tricks, followed by Q&A session. Class is free if registered by September 18. Maximum class size is 25. Register

1:00 - 4:00 pm Duncan-Parnell: Mobile Device Data Collection.
Overview of high accuracy data collection for mobile devices.  Data
collection with ArcGIS Collector & Trimble TerraFlex. Class is free if registered by September 18. Maximum class size is 25. Register

The 2015 Eastern Regional TNGIC Conference will be held at the Eastman Lodge in Kingsport, TN on Tuesday September 22, 2015 with training sessions planned for Wednesday, September 23rd at the Eastman Lodge. 

The Social Event
We are planning a social gathering on Monday evening, September 21st at one of the Eastman picnic shelters near the lodge. Please register to help us know how many people will be attending.

Details of social to be determined based on how many are interested in attending.

Share Your Knowledge and Earn GISP Points for Presenting
Submit an abstract for a presentation at the TNGIC East Tennessee Regional GIS Conference.  This free one-day event brings our communities together to learn from each other and build on GIS technology. This event will provide hands-on demonstrations of GPS and GIS technologies as well as cartographic design.

Submissions Should Include

Presenter Category (General or Vendor)

Submission Guidelines
•    Authors will present in a 20 minute live presentation as part of a moderated session. 
•    The allocated presentation time of 20 minutes will be adhered to strictly. Please be courteous to the moderators and other presenters.
•    Your abstract title may not exceed 10 words. 
•    Your abstract must be in electronic format, may not exceed 1 MB, and cannot be longer than 150 words. 
•    Do not write in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Remember, the information you enter is used for publishing purposes (e.g., Web site, agenda, CD-ROM). 
•    All Paper Submissions must be in electronic format and presentations must be in English. 
•    No bullet points or numbering should be used. 

Presenter Category 
There will be two categories of presentations this year – General and Vendor.  This will give the vendors an opportunity to showcase their products or services.  Vendor tracks can be commercial in content; general tracks should not be commercial in content.  Both categories will be considered for presentations and mixed into the agenda schedule.  Vendor presentations will have the “Vendor Presentation” designation in the agenda.  PLEASE DESIGNATE YOUR PRESENTATION AS “VENDOR” WHERE APPLICABLE.

Abstracts will be published on the event Web site and Agenda.  This year's conference planning committee will evaluate all abstracts and make selections based on topic, content, and time available.  A detailed program of presentations and events will be provided prior to the conference. Projector equipment will be provided. Please bring your laptop.

Announcing the 2015 Western Regional TNGIC Forum!

The Forum will be held on Wednesday October 21, 2015

Onsite Check-in starts at 8:30 am

The Forum starts at 9 am and will wrap up at 4:30 pm

Lunch is FREE!!! (If that is not incentive, I don't know what is!)

The training will be the Experience GIS in TN I class. This will be held in Jackson at the TN Department of Health Field Office on October 22nd.

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
TNGIC is currently accepting presentation abstracts for the upcoming West Tennessee Forum on Geographic Information Systems in Jackson, TN.  We welcome How-To demonstrations and all GIS related topics, especially those relating to West Tennessee projects.  Please review the guidelines and fill out the form.
  • Each speaker will be allowed 20-45 minutes – including time for questions from attendees.
  • Electricity, projector, internet, laptop and screen will be provided.
  • Deadline for Presentation Submission is September 30th, 2015.
  • There are a limited number of presentation slots available. We cannot guarantee that all submissions will be accepted.

The 15th Annual Memphis Area Geographic Information Council (MAGIC) Conference will be held at the Memphis Botanic Gardens located at 750 Cherry Rd, Memphis, TN 38117 in midtown Memphis, Tennessee, on November 12‐13, 2015. Join us as we celebrate GIS Day in the Mid‐South region! This year’s theme is “The Utility of GIS”. Our broad‐topic conference gives you the presenter an opportunity to showcase your work and show how useful GIS can be in any field to professionals and interested individuals throughout the Memphis area. Individuals from the private & public sectors as well as students are invited to submit abstracts for our regional event. Topics related to GIS and its applications are welcome for submission, and you will find the abstract criteria and more information HERE!
