Individual memberships are open to anyone. TNGIC bylaws do not accommodate group, corporate or educational institution memberships. Yearly membership is included with registration to the annual TNGIC conference. Otherwise, yearly membership is $20. Online
Membership Registration Benefits of TNGIC membership Tennessee Spatial Data Server - TNGIC sponsors the Tennessee Spatial Data Server (www.tngis.org) which serves GIS data for the state. DOQs, DRGs, boundaries, wetlands, census information, land cover, soils, and watersheds can be downloaded from the site at no cost. Tennessee Spatial Metadata Server - Through a grant from the FGDC, TNGIC was able to purchase hardware and acquire software to create the Tennessee Spatial Metadata Server. This server is the FGDC metadata node for the State. Users can input and search FGDC-compliant metadata for Tennessee. TNGIC Annual Conference - The TNGIC Annual Conference is the premier GIS conference in the state. The annual meeting includes panel discussions, workshops, vendor displays and poster displays. It is a great networking vehicle for GIS professionals in Tennessee. 3 Regional Conferences - TNGIC also sponsors regional GIS conferences in East, Middle, and West Tennessee annually. Each of the 3 events average 100-200 attendees. TNGIC is the Official State GIS Organization Networking with other GIS professionals in Tennessee - Be it through the annual conference, regional meetings, the e-mail listserver, or the quarterly newsletter, TNGIC is a great way to network with other GIS professionals in the state.
