What is TNGIC?
The Tennessee Geographic Information Council is the premier professional organization for coordination and promotion of GIS efforts across the state.

    • As a student, you automatically qualify for a discounted conference fee, BUT you also qualify to apply for a FREE STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP.
    • Assistantships cover your conference registration fee, meals, workshops, and social activities!
    • With the Assistantship, you must participate in a volunteer opportunity at the conference and work a one hour shift at the TNGIC booth daily.

  • FREE Regional Forums and Workshops - held annually in East, Middle, and West Tennessee
    • Each of the 3 events averages 100-200 attendees, including current and established professionals and academics of the GIS world
    • They present invaluable networking opportunities for students interested in engaging with either track, plus the chance to give a student presentation, attend workshops, vendor displays, poster displays, and enter the Map Gallery Competition

How to become a member:
  • Go to TNGIC.org, select the “Membership” Tab, and navigate to the “Student Portal”
  • Submit the annual membership fee either online through the link, or via mail through the downloadable registration form.
